ระบบความเชื่อ “ศิลป์ พีระศรี” : ศาสนา อัตลักษณ์ และการดำรงอยู่ทางสัญลักษณ์

        ศิลป์ พีระศรี  หรือ  Corrado Feroci   ศิลปินชาวฟลอเรนซ์เข้ามาทำงานศิลปะในราชสำนักในยุครัชกาลที่ 6 และยังได้วางรากฐานทางศิลปะตลอดจนบุกเบิกการเรียนการสอนในศิลปะสมัยใหม่สำหรับประเทศไทย  ศิลป์ พีระศรี มิได้เพียงวางรากฐานของงานช่างศิลป์เท่านั้น หากแต่คำสอนรวมถึงความรู้สึกผูกพันของบรรดาสานุศิษย์กลับได้รับการถ่ายทอดและส่งต่อกันไปรุ่นสู่รุ่น  ซึ่งกระบวนการนี้ทำให้ลูกศิษย์ที่ทันเรียนกับอาจารย์ศิลป์แล้วจบไปเป็นผู้มีอิทธิพลอย่างกว้างขวางในวงการศิลปะสมัยใหม่ และได้ นำเอาความเคารพในคำสอนและตัวบุคคลนี้มอบให้แก่นักเรียนศิลปะที่จะจบไปเพื่อเข้าสู่เครือวงวารแห่งศิลปะ  ศิลปิน           ด้วยนักเรียนศิลปะที่มีอิทธิพลต่อวงการนี้ ล้วนเกิดจากมหาวิทยาลัยศิลปากร ในฐานะจุดแรกเริ่ม การผลิตและถ่ายทอดอุดมการณ์หรือค่านิยมต่างๆ  แล้วส่งต่อเป็นแบบแผนของความเชื่อทางวัฒนธรรมของแวดวง/สังคม/องค์กร  ในข้อเขียนนี้จึงจะกล่าวถึงรูปแบบ  "ความเชื่อ" ศิลป์  พีระศรีในเชิงพิธีกรรมในฐานะที่พิธีกรรมเป็นส่วนหนึ่งในการธำรง...

Praxis/Practice ว่าด้วย “ปฏิบัติการ”

  โดยรากฐานของวิธีคิดเรื่อง “ปฏิบัติการ” เกิดขึ้นมายาวนานจากการตั้งคำถามเชิงปรัชญาว่าหากมนุษย์เป็นศูนย์กลางของการรับรู้โลก ดังนั้น “ความแท้จริง” หรือ “สารัตถะ” ของสรรพสิ่งที่มนุษย์รับรู้นั้นคืออะไร และจะศึกษาหรืออธิบายอย่างไร  ย่อมนำนักคิดนักปรัชญาในยุคคลาสสิกไปหาวิธีเข้าถึงความรู้ในเรื่องนี้ 2 แนวทาง คือ แนวทางของ “เพลโต” ในเชิงเหตุผล ความคิด หรือการถกเถียง (Dialectica/dialektikḗ) จากสองแง่มุมที่ต่างกันเพื่อเข้าใกล้ความ “จริงแท้” ที่สมบูรณ์  อีกหนึ่งคือแนวทางของ “อริสโตเติล”ในทางว่าการรับรู้เรื่องราวของโลกและสรรพสิ่งของมนุษย์ มาจากการสั่งสมความรู้หรือทฤษฎี มาจากการ “ปฏิบัติ” ของมนุษย์ เพราะมนุษย์ปฏิบัติจึงเกิดองค์ความรู้และความรู้นำไปสู่การปฏิบัติที่เหมาะสม หรือที่เรียกกันว่า “ศาสตร์แห่งการปฏิบัติ” หรือในอีกชื่อหนึ่ง “จริยศาสตร์” (Ethics) ทั้ง 2 ทางนี้ล้วนเป็นรากฐานแห่งปรัชญาตะวันตกทั้งมวล เพลโต และ อริสโตเติล จากกลางภาพเขียนยุคเรเนสซองค์ Scuola di Atene หรือ School of Athens.(1509–1511) วาดโดย Raffaello Sanzio da Urbino แสดงให้เห็นสองวิวาทะที่กลายเป็นแกนกลางของการศึกษาต...

Dark Anthropology

เมื่อเราต้องหันมาศึกษาผู้กดขี่ Sherry B. Ortner (2016) ได้เสนอคำว่า Dark anthropology จากการเคลื่อนกระบวนศึกษาตั้งแต่ยุค 1980 ซึ่งทางทฤษฎีและงานชาติพันธุ์วรรณาเคลื่อนตัวท่ามกลางการเปลี่ยนแปลงทางสังคมและเศรษฐกิจตามระเบียบของ “เสรีนิยมใหม่” ในบริบทของสังคมอเมริกัน ซึ่งผมมองว่ามันสามารถอธิบายปรากฏการณ์ของระเบียบโลกเสรีนิยมใหม่ของทั่วโลกได้อย่างกว้างขวาง  การเปลี่ยนแปลงอย่างกว้างขวางส่งผลต่อปฏิบัติการต่อต้านอำนาจการเปลี่ยนแปลงมากมาย ทั้งการต่อต้านจากผู้ด้อยอำนาจ เข่น ชนพื้นเมือง แรงงาน สตรี เป็นต้น  ในขณะเดียวกันมีสิ่งหนึ่งที่ท้าทายการศึกษาสังคมในบริบทเสรีนิยมใหม่เป็นอย่างมาก คือ การมองไปยังด้านมืดของสังคม กลุ่มผู้ก่อการร้าย กลุ่มผู้นิยมรัฐอิสลาม กลุ่มนีโอนาซี ตลอดจนผู้ที่เกี่ยวพันธ์โดยตรงกับการกดขี่ชนชายขอบที่นักมานุษยวิทยามักจะไม่ยืนข้างคนเหล่านี้  แต่เราไม่อาจปฏิเสธได้ว่าการมีอยู่ของคนเหล่านี้ล้วนอยู่ภายใต้การเปลี่ยนแปลงอันถาโถมของเสรีนิยมใหม่ และเราควรทำความเข้าใจมัน แม้จะยากเย็น อันตราย และเต็มไปด้วยข้อต่อรองทางการเมืองผู้อยู่รอดจากภัยอันตรายของผู้เข้าไปศึกษาวิจัยเองด้วย...
